The Big Memory Mistake (and How to Reverse It!)
“Memory Loss is Caused by Aging”
It’s a statement we’ve been led to believe by many so-called experts.
But it’s a mistake. In fact, new research has proven that memory loss isn’t caused by aging.
It’s caused by something else that is completely reversible.

The Most Painful Day of My Life
Dear Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin reader,
Are you experiencing unusual pain in your abdomen or bladder, or a strange discoloration in your urine? If so, you might be going through something that sends nearly half a million people to the emergency room every year. Stick with me to find out more.
I remember a few years ago I had kidney stone and let me tell you it as one of the most excruciating experiences of my life. The pain was so excruciating, I couldn’t even drive my car!
Kidney stones are a common, painful experience shared by many. Approximately 13% of men and seven percent of women in the U.S. will develop kidney stones at least once in their lifetimes. There are a number of symptoms and causes associated with these painful (yet non-harmful) stones that pass from your bladder through the urinary tract.
So, What Are Kidney Stones?
Kidney stones are made up of mineral deposits that form inside your kidney. They form when urine becomes concentrated and the minerals it contains begin to crystallize and stick together.
There are a few different kinds of kidney stones:
– Calcium stones, the most common type, come in the form of calcium oxalate, which is a naturally occurring mineral found in a number of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and chocolate. Oxalate is also produced naturally in the liver. What’s interesting, however, is that increasing overall calcium in the diet can be beneficial in fighting these stones. When calcium binds with oxalate, it seems to limit their ability to bind and crystallize. Calcium supplements, in this case, might be quite useful.
– Struvite stones grow large and fast—resulting in immense pain rather quickly. They are typically the result of a urinary tract infection.
– Uric acid stones typically occur if you don’t drink enough water, lose a lot of water without replenishing, or have a very high-protein diet. If you’ve got gout, you’re also at an increased risk of developing uric acid stones.
– Cystine stones are found in people who have a hereditary genetic disorder that causes the kidneys to excrete unusually high levels of certain amino acids.
Why They Happen…and What You Can Do
There are various reasons why you might have an elevated risk for kidney stones, everything from your family and medical history to your diet and weight. Research shows that there is a genetic predisposition to kidney stone disease— if you have kidney stones and they are common in your family, it’s quite possibly the result of a genetic connection. Also, if you’ve had kidney stones before, it’s likely you’ll get them again.
Your diet can play a big role, which is good news because you have direct control over what you eat. Eating too much sugar, sodium, and protein can increase your risk of developing kidney stones.
Staying hydrated is also very important to ensure urination occurs regularly and minerals have less opportunity to crystallize. Drink 8-10 glasses of water per day, and more if you sweat a lot or live in a warm climate.
There is some very preliminary research indicating that zinc may play a key role in the formation of kidney stones, but it is far too early to draw any conclusions. However, there’s no harm in talking to your doctor what supplementing with zinc if you’re prone to these painful stones.
